I started playing tennis seriously in 1990 as a result of some personal discovery work I did with a Jungian Psychotherapist. He encouraged me to find an activity where I could fully express the "warrior" part of my personality and learn how to perform at a high level of execution under pressure. I took the challenge, learned how to play, fell in love with the game and dedicated myself to it.
Since then, I''ve worked with many different instructors, trained in various tennis camps throughout the country, made many great tennis related friends, and learned alot about myself and life. My passion for the game continues today after 18 years of playing.
I played a number of tournaments in 2008, getting to the finals in three of them and finishing the year ranked number 10 in my age group in the Middle States section. Currently I am ranked number 10 again as the 2009 comes to a close.
As my children grew they also became very passionate about tennis. My daughter, Chelsea, now a senior playing Division 1 tennis at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland, set a goal for herself in high school to do exactly what she is now doing. She worked very hard toward the goal and her dream became a reality. More about Chelsea can be found here.
My son, Zach, 18 years old, is also very involved in tennis. After many years of playing junior tournaments he now attends Penn State University in the college of Engineering and plays number one singles for the travel team at Penn State. Read more about him here.
