Born in Denver, Colorado and then spending most of his early years in Northern New Jersey, Long Island, New York and Wellesley, Massachusetts, Don graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University, majoring in English Literature. He was inspired by the writings of Herman Hesse, Aldous Huxley, Ken Kesey and D.H. Lawrence and the music of JJ Cale, Jackson Browne, Jethro Tull, J Geils, Cat Stevens, The Allmann Brothers and many other great bands of the late 60's and early 70's.
He moved to Boston and with some friends opened a natural food store in the Back Bay section. He began to study guitar and developed an interest in songwriting.
His ongoing interest in self discovery took him on a long world wide journey to Africa, Australia, Europe and throughout North America where he taught principles of self awareness. In 1985 he settled in Pennsylvania and raised a family.
In the early 1990's he sold his Harley Davidson motorcycle, motivated by the misfortune of several friends who were either killed or severely injured in accidents caused by other motorists. He built a small recording studio in the basement of his home and got more serious about songwriting. He has recorded two CD's and is working on his third.
The songwriting continues today, and like any creative process there are times when the songs pour out and other times where no songs appear for months and months.
