Don Johnson lives in Exton, Pennsylvania, writing and recording original music. Some of his music
While toiling away in relative obscurity, he finds inspiration from time to time, picks up one of his Taylor guitars and sometimes a song emerges that is worthy of recording. He has written and recorded about 30 songs, all available as demos for artists seekiing new material. He has released 2 CD's over the past 10 years, both available on Amazon.com. See the lyrics pages for words to many of his songs.
His music ranges from swamp blues, americana, country rock, to chabalero (a unique blend of caribbean inspired rock.) Many listeners describe his unique vocal stylings and overall sound to Jim Morrison and The Doors, something which is beyond flattering to him.
Several of his songs are being promoted in Nashville through Springbarrel Songwriter Services and he is happy to be working with this great group of people.
He recorded his first CD, Ship of Dreams, with his good friend and jazz musician Mark DeCozio in 1997. Several years later he met Tony Juliano, former leader of Johnny's Dance Band, a highly successful Philadelphia band from the late 1970's. Tony was instrumental in producing Don's second CD, "Slippin' Through The Shadows". Tony and Don teamed up as co writers on many of the tunes from this album and continue to collaborate on other musical projects. More information on Tony Juliano can be found by following this link: www.tonyjulianomusic.com
Another important collaborator on all Don's projects is the one and only Joey Stout, owner of Digital Dawg Studios, engineer, producer, impersonator, crazy insane guitar player, keyboardist and god knows what instrument he can't play, maybe trombone? Where is Joey's website? Here is his band's website, the Porkroll Project, a smokin' hot blues band: www.porkroll-blues.com
